Home Accessibility & Innovative Technology
Our Home Accessibility & Innovative Technology program at CIL Broward is designed to help individuals with disabilities live more safely and independently in their homes. We provide access to durable medical equipment, support home modifications through barrier removal, and offer a wheelchair repair clinic to ensure mobility needs are met promptly and effectively.
Durable Medical Equipment (FAAST)
Through our FAAST (Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology) program, CIL Broward provides access to durable medical equipment to support independence and daily living for individuals with disabilities. We offer free short-term loans of items such as wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, and other essential equipment, helping individuals bridge gaps during emergencies, transitions, or while awaiting permanent solutions.
Durable Medical Equipment
CIL Broward’s Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Program provides free, short-term loans of essential mobility and medical equipment to individuals with disabilities. Items such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and shower chairs are available to support safety, independence, and daily living—especially during recovery, transitions, or while awaiting permanent equipment.
Wheelchair Repair Clinic
CIL Broward hosts a Wheelchair Repair Clinic on the second Tuesday of each month from 1:00–4:00 PM, offering free basic repairs and adjustments for manual and power wheelchairs. Our goal is to help individuals maintain their mobility and independence by addressing common issues in a convenient, supportive setting.
